Its that time of year again when we all hit the beaches and start getting ready for S.A’s so all of you pack away those joints and burgers and start training for our trials   -first one next month-.

The first committee meeting of the year took place on the 12 October and many aspects of our club were discussed.  Firstly, we need to establish a good sponsor so if anyone has any worthwhile comments please get back to us as soon as possible.

Secondly, we discussed the trials for S.A’s.  as I hope you all know S.A Champs is going to be held in Cape Town next year and we need to start the trials very soon.  The dates for the trials will be as follows:

All trials will be surfed on a Sunday.

Venue:  Pipe (But we will move if there are no waves) 

Time:  Everyone must meet at Pipe at 07:30 and be ready to surf at 08:00 at Pipe or 08:30 if it is at another venue i.e. Lookout, Noordhoek etc.

All surfers will be required to judge 3 heats as well.

All three trials must be surfed as all three are counted no exeptions.  So if you want to be top-seed you have to get three results and put in some effort.  If you cannot make it please contact Dave Lipschitz (082 322 1150) or Anthony Bernstein (082 875 0341) . You will have a chance to make the team if you surf 2 trials but your 3rd result will still count as a zero.

With reference to payments of subs, please see the previous e-mail sent to you.  This year a much stricter attitude will be taken with the payment of subs and if you do not pay your subs you will not be able to surf the trials

ALL SUBS MUST BE PAYED FOR BY THE FIRST TRIAL -NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

Anybody with financial problems must submit their problem in writing to the comitee and we will consider a remission based on the individuals problem. Only serious claims will be considered.

We desperately need new members and as a special offer for new members we will charge R100 as a new members first years membership.
